WHAT WE CAN TREAT
Fertility Support (including natural assistance for IVF)
Acupuncture is often used to enhance fertility and support women during pregnancy and postpartum. Research published in the Macedonian Journal of Medical Sciences suggests that acupuncture may effectively restore fertility in patients by enhancing sperm quality, optimising ovarian function, and harmonising the endocrine system and hormonal balance.
Migraines & Headaches
According to the NICE guidelines, Acupuncture is recommended for alleviating headaches, including tension headaches and migraines. This complementary therapy can reduce headache frequency and intensity by promoting muscle relaxation, relieving tension, and triggering the release of natural pain-relieving endorphins. It's important to note that individual responses to acupuncture can vary, and its effectiveness may depend on the type and underlying causes of headaches.
FROZEN SHOULDER
According to The British Acupuncture Society, acupuncture has been acknowledged for its potential to reduce pain, inflammation, and alleviate muscle and joint stiffness. This makes it a valuable option in the treatment of frozen shoulder. It's important to note that individual responses to acupuncture may vary, and consultation with a licensed acupuncturist is advisable to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for frozen shoulder.
Insomnia & Emotional Balance
Insomnia and stress can have significant and interconnected effects on both your physical and mental well-being:
Persistent sleep disturbances can lead to physical health problems, including fatigue, weakened immune function, can lead to mood swings, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and impaired cognitive function. Over time, it can increase the risk of mood disorders like depression and anxiety.
According to this study, Acupuncture treatment can improve sleep quality and improve overall psychological health. Efficacy and safety of acupuncture treatment on primary insomnia: a randomized controlled trial - PubMed (nih.gov)

Acupuncture achieves these effects through the stimulation of specific acupuncture points, which are believed to influence the body's hormonal balance, reduce inflammation, and modulate pain perception, ultimately providing relief from women's health issues.

aBOUT THE TREATMENT
When it comes to the treatment process, I delve into your medical history, capturing a holistic view of your health landscape. I carefully assess the area of concern through touch, evaluate your pulse, and examine your tongue.

My approach extends beyond addressing symptoms; but to root out the core issues, ensuring a comprehensive and effective treatment. When it's time for the treatment itself, I use single-use fine needles, assuring both your comfort and safety throughout the process.
In some cases, alongside acupuncture, I will incorporate other TCM complementary techniques like cupping, Gua sha, heat lamp therapy, moxa (a warming herb applied to the skin), and electro-acupuncture.
